Hello and welcome to my portfolio website!

I am currently a copy editor for Mic and Romper. I’m based in Houston, Texas.

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (’15) with a bachelor’s in journalism and a minor in history. My concentrations in journalism were copy editing, photojournalism, business reporting, government reporting, and print and web publishing. My history concentrations were the Civil Rights Movement, the Holocaust, and gender studies.

I am a published writer and photographer, although these days I mostly do both as more of a hobby. My work was featured in Reporting Texas and Longhorn Life, UT’s student life magazine. I spent almost a year and a half as a copy editor for The Daily Texan, the award-winning student newspaper at UT. I also spent a year in college studying photojournalism under Magnum photographer Eli Reed. Some of my published photos as well as my portrait photography and personal photo work can be found on the Photography page.

I also have professional, academic, or competitive experience in the following areas: social media journalism and analytics, audio production and editing, photo editing, graphic design, advertising, and marketing.

I recently started a small accessories business on Etsy, where I sell lapel pins and patches based on my illustrations. I manage its accompanying social media, which is steadily gaining followers.

In my spare time, I enjoy lots of stuff. Cosmetology is a hobby of mine, hence the rainbow hair. I love experimenting with professional hair color lines and learning the science behind it, all without a license (shame on me, I know). I have a nail art obsession; I do gel and acrylic nails, mostly on myself and a few guinea pigs friends. I also like to paint, re-watch The Office, bake, and cuddle with my puppy Penelope.

Thank you for visiting!
